Nestled on Gonville Place, just a stone's throw from the iconic Parker's Piece in Cambridge, Borsch To Go is a charming cafe that transports you straight to the heart of Ukraine. This delightful establishment is not just a food stall; it's a gastronomic journey that embodies the warmth and authenticity of homemade Ukrainian cuisine.

The first thing you’ll notice as you approach Borsch To Go is the inviting aroma of freshly prepared dishes that beckon you closer. The cafe is known for its comforting and hearty offerings, with special mention to their signature borsch, a beetroot soup that captivates your senses with its deep, rich flavor, and a hint of tang that only comes from traditional recipes. Another highlight that patrons rave about are the varenyky, Ukrainian potato dumplings that are lovingly crafted and served with a dollop of creamy sour cream that perfectly complements their pillowy texture.

The atmosphere here is nothing short of welcoming. As one customer, Kristīne Čaniža, beautifully captures, Borsch To Go is “a lovely surprise” that makes stopping by feel like a treasured discovery during your Cambridge visit. The owner, described as incredibly kind by many patrons, ensures that every visit is not just about the food, but also about feeling at home, no matter where you're from.

For those who are curious about trying a variety of dishes, Maria Yardeny shares her delightful experience of indulging in the borscht, dumplings, and even a sweet Kiev cake, all while sipping on coffee infused with a unique blend of nine spices. Each plate is a testament to the cafe’s dedication to quality and authenticity.

While every dish at Borsch To Go is a winner, some customers suggested enhancements, like a saltier broth for the varenyky, but the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive. Taya Giove sums it up perfectly with her praise for the “amazing food and great service” that characterizes this hidden gem. Cosmo Coulter echoes this feeling, highlighting the “super friendly” nature of the staff that truly enhances the dining experience.

If you find yourself wandering the streets of Cambridge and are looking for nourishment that not only fills your stomach but also warms your heart, Borsch To Go is a must-visit. Whether you’re a fan of Ukrainian cuisine or simply in search of something deliciously different, this cafe promises a memorable culinary experience that you’ll find hard to forget. Don’t miss out – you’re likely to leave with a smile and a yearning to return for more!

The Varenyky (Ukrainian potato dumplings) could do with a saltier broth and more onions, but the sour cream on top was delicious.

Amazing Ukrainian food and very sweet owners. I loved all the dishes we tried: the borscht, the dumplings, the Kiev cake, and the coffee, which has 9 spices in it! Highly recommended and will be back for more tasty food
